Step 14: Attach palm rests

The palm rest drops into the sled. M2 thread-cutting screws clamp it at the sides.

Don’t overtighten these screws.

The palm rest stands on three legs. You can shim it to any height you like. The holes line up for 0 mm and 5 mm of lift with the default shims.

  • If you plan to add padding on top of the palm rest, you’ll probably want the low position.
  • Adhesive memory foam (1/4 inch) or adhesive-backed leather both work as padding. Foam is less durable.
  • The fixing screws are the 4 mm M2 thread-cutting screws, the same as for the PCBAs.
